The Bodhi Retreat – Not only a sanctuary of escape but also to help people reset themselves through yoga, meditation, diet and exercise…
The Bodhi Retreat was co-founded by Annalouise Kenny and Maria Naskos, The Bodhi Retreat was created with one ambition: to allow those who are stressed and overworked the opportunity to access peace and serenity to relax, recharge and regroup.
Having both dedicated years to working in the health and wellness industry. Maria has a degree in biomedical sciences and has worked for a number of illustrious health centres. Whilst Annalouise has founded a number of successful companies in the skin care market, including a skin aesthetics clinic Skin Philosophy as well as a hugely influential and well regarded training company Advance. Working together every day they both saw first-hand the effects of stress on their clients’ skin, body and emotional welfare. Therefore they wanted to offer not only a sanctuary of escape but also to help people reset themselves through yoga, meditation, diet and exercise. So they devised The Bodhi Retreat; set in a stunning Grecian villa to provide every amenity and facility possible to get mind and body back in shape. To see what is included click here
The Bodhi Tree
The Bodhi Tree (Sanskrit: बोधि) also known as Bo (from Sinhalese: Bo) and “peepal tree” (Devanagari: पीपल क पेड़) was a large and very old sacred fig tree located in Bodh Gaya, under which Siddhartha Gautama, the spiritual teacher who later became known as the Buddha, is said to have attained enlightenment. In religious iconography, the Bodhi Tree is recognizable by its heart-shaped leaves, which are usually prominently displayed.
